Man, this thing is clean.
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
I’m not up-to-date on my 914 valuations though, so not sure if this is CP or reasonable.

That’s really clean, especially for the Midwest. Not sure on the price though. I don't think 914s have been getting much love from the Porsche crowd.

I know they have a really strong following from the niche that loves them, but the flat-6 is definitely the one to have. I have a feeling the 914 might be due for a renewed interest pretty soon, and values will begin to climb fast. They are great little cars. A buddy of mine in high school had a couple.

Values for the /4 have been climbing fast. This is the going rate for one in this condition. /6 prices have been in the stratosphere for a while now.

Figured that was the case

Converted to twin Weber carbs from
what
?

According to this FAQ on 914World.com it sounds like some people convert the EFI to a dual weber instead of paying to fix issues with the EFI system...

low miles only pays when along with originality. Repaint and lack of fuel injection will hurt.
computers have come down after folks started rebuilding. they were about $700 a few years ago.

computers for the Fi were $@300+, and the fuel injectors were pretty pricy. Mix in a bunch of vacuum lines and people just said fuck it and put on carbs. even though fuel economy will drop to shit.

Hell yes I could.
I mean, I have a very minimal knowledge of old Porsches and exactly what to look for. But I will use you for an excuse to drive it. lol

Do you get better performance or a cool exhaust note with the Webers?

Crack price

That would be awesome of you, cause I think I’m in love! I’m mostly concerned about the quality of the respray. These cars were only worth $3k back when it was repainted, so most repsrays on these are amateur quality (20 footers). It looks great in the photos, but I’d hate to fly up there and be disappointed. If you could verify it doesn’t puke oil that would be great too.

haha for sure.
Shoot me an email (chris.kelley.fairbanks@gmail.com) and we can coordinate it a bit better. Probably best if you contact the guy, and it seems like we actually know each other a little bit. Otherwise it may look like I’m just trying to joyride his car. haha

Aural boost but performance drop. with @90hp. not worth it imho.
other main reason was 914 used an audi fuel pump with 9mm nozzle and 7 mm hoses. so instead of using a different hose or lines, they made a tapered hose. (yeah really dumb as it was a custom hose and expensive) as hoses dry rotted ( about 6" away from the exhaust) they would spray fuel all over the hot exhaust. thus engine fires were common and people would strip the engine down to core, remove the EFI and throw on a set of cheap, crappy shade tree carbs.
